Rafael Nadal returned to the top of the ATP rankings for the first time in more than two years on Monday. It is the first time Nadal has headed the table since July 2011, replacing Novak Djokovic of Serbia, who has been dropped to second.
The spaniard dominates the ATP rankings with 11,160 points, 40 points more than Djokovic. However, Djokovic, who recently won the China Open by defeating Nadal in the final, had kept the ranking for 101 weeks.
Former World No. 1 Roger Federer dropped another spot in the ATP rankings. The Swiss has gone down to number seven this week.
In the WTA rankings, Serena Williams of the United States will finish the season as world number one for the third time.
