New Delhi: The Ration helpline number of the Delhi government till now has received 90,753 calls related to queries and complaints. "The complaints received so far mostly pertain to non opening of FPS, quality of foodgrains, issue of foodgrains less than the entitlement, service deficiency at the FPS and misbehavior by the FPS licensee.

"The department has taken strict action including imposition of fine and suspension of FPS licensee on the basis of complaints received through the ration helpline," said a press release issued by the Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs.

Of the total 90,753 calls so far, 90,143 calls were queries and 610 were complaints. According to the Department officials, 99 per cent complaints were redressed promptly.

The Department had launched the ration helpline No 1967 and 1800110841 in July 2013 to answer the queries related to various services being delivered by the department as well as to provide a platform to people to lodge their complaints and grievances against the Fair Price Shop Licensee as well as staff of the department.

In case of complaints, each complainant is given a unique ID and the complaint is promptly forwarded to the concerned assistant commissioner of Food and Supplies Department who takes immediate steps to redress the complaint and also informs the call centre.
