Rebels held in Ganjam

BERHAMPUR: After the bodyguard of Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda surrendered before police, three more senior cadres were arrested near Sorada in Ganjam district.Ganjam SP Rajesh Pandit identified the three as Malati Majhi (28) of Buduli village in Kandhamal and Bulu Kademe (19) and Soni Telam alias Ratna (22) of  Chhattishgarh, during a media briefing on Tuesday at Chhatrapur. They were nabbed during a combing operation. The SP said Malati had joined the outfit in 2007 and was involved in several incidents of violence in Nayagarh, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts. Similarly, Bulu joined the extremist group in 2008 and Soni in 2010. They were involved in the explosion at Srirampur in Kandhamal. The police arrested the trio while they were on way to consult a doctor after Malati developed some health problem.
