SASTRA Rank List for BTech admissions 2011-12

CHENNAI: The SASTRA University BTech admissions rank list for the year 2011-12 has been released.The first rank was secured by D Deepika of DAV Higher Sec School, Gopalapuram, Chennai who has secured 99.5 per cent, scoring 1184 out of 1200 in the TNHSC examinations.S Bhakthakolahalan of Sri Gnanananda Matric Hr Sec School, Thirukoilur, scored the second rank with a score of 1183 (99.41 per cent). Third rank went to Shaik Karimullasha Khadari from Viveka Junior College, Guntur, with 99.4 per cent, totalling his score to 987.The counseling for the admissions will be held between June 20 and 23 at Thanjavur and call letters for the candidates selected for counselling are being dispatched. The cut-off marks for the last candidate called for counseling stands at 90.92 per cent.The results are also available at www.sastra.edu.The Class 12 marks have been normalised to bring all students to the same level of comparison and the rank list is released based on the normalised scores secured by the candidates.The remaining 30 per cent of the seats will be filled by SATSRA based on All India Ranks secured in AIEEE’2011 for which application can be submitted online at www.sastra.edu and counseling is scheduled on July 1. The entire admission process is done transparently based on merit.Over 14,000 applications were issued to students from various boards of education in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Kolkatta, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, Assam, etc.For more information, visit SASTRA website.
