Noida: Delhi has seen an increase in rape cases in the New Year. In yet another incident, a schoolgirl was allegedly raped in Noida, near Delhi.
The incident happened on Thursday. The 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped by four people from when she was coming back home from her aunt’s house.
She was then taken to a forest area. She alleges that there was a cabin there where she was locked up and gangraped.
The girl managed to escape from her abductors and reached home on Saturday morning.
Her family says that the girl has identified one of their neighbours, Vishesh Sharma, as the person who had masterminded the kidnapping.
"She also told us the name of two more men in the car – Uday and Rajveer. She heard their names because they were talking amongst themselves," her relative Harkesh said.
Vishesh Sharma, who owns an STD shop in Noida, was beaten up by the members of the girl’s family.
However the girl’s family denies beating up the boy. Her cousin, Bhopal Singh says, "We had gone to the police station to register an FIR. I think some of our relatives and neighbours who were angry at what had happened beat him up."
A case of kidnapping and rape has been registered against Vishesh.
