Every year, UIC (International Union of Railways) observes a day as the International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD).
SCR is participating in this global campaign to sensitise the road users. The Day focuses on educational measures and promotion of safe behaviour at and around level crossings.
There are 1,431 Level Crossings over South Central Railway, out of which 655 are un-manned, SCR sources said.
