Secretariat intrusion to be probed

The state government has taken the barging of students into the Secretariat during a cabinet sub-committee meeting on fee reimbursement on August as a serious breach of security and on Thursday appointed additional secretary W Ganeshan to enquire into the security lapse that day.

The government, by an order, appointed Ganesan to examine as to why the security guards posted at Secretariat could not prevent the students from entering the premises and creating a ruckus.
