Final year students Mahadevan and Bhaskar, some other students of the college and some locals dragged Shankar out of the train and beat him up. Shankar lost a couple of teeth in the incident.The accused then fled from the spot. Shankar informed his friends about the incident and lodged a complaint with the railway police.Shankar’s friends Anil Kumar, Nagesh Reddy, Chinnappa Reddy and others alleged that their seniors come drunk and harass them in hostels during night. Unable to put up with it, some of us resisted them and they developed grudge against us, they said.Meanwhile, college authorities said they had nothing to do with the incident, as it happened outside their premises. They also said no ragging is taking place on the campus.Student organisation Nava Samaja Federation president N Nagesh demanded that the railway police arrest the culprits.
