Several Delhi University Colleges Receive Bomb Threats, Cops Say 'Nothing Suspicious Found'
This comes a day after a bomb threat e-mail was received by the Union Home Ministry’s office at Delhi’s North Block on Wednesday

More than a dozen colleges including Delhi University’s Lady Sri Ram College, Hansraj College and Ramjas College received bomb threats via e-mails on Thursday, officials said. Calls were received at 4.38 pm regarding bomb threats at Lady Shri Ram College and Sri Venkateswara College. Fire tenders, Delhi police at the spot, Delhi Fire Service said in a statement.

The local police, a bomb disposal squad, and a bomb detection team reached the LSR College along with a dog squad and conducted searches but nothing suspicious was found, the official added.

This comes a day after a bomb threat e-mail was received by the Union Home Ministry’s office at Delhi’s North Block on Wednesday.

A police officer said that along with LSR over a dozen other colleges in Delhi received the threat e-mail.

These colleges include — Hansraj College, Gargi College, Ramjas College, Zakir Husain College, Indraprastha College For Women, Lady Irwin College, Kirori Mal College, Bhaskaracharya College, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Sri Venkateswara College, and PGDAV College.

Bomb threats were also reported from Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal-3, Burari Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Bara Hindu Rao Hospital, Janakpuri Super Speciality Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Dabri’s Dada Dev Hospital.

On May 1, over 150 schools in the Delhi-NCR received bomb threats, which later turned out to be a hoax. After conducting a thorough check of all schools as per protocol, Delhi Police had said nothing objectionable was found. “It appears that these calls seem to be a hoax. We request the public not to panic and maintain peace,” police had said.

The schools that received the bomb threat E-Mail included – Sanskriti School of Chanakyapuri police station area, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar of East Delhi, DPS School of Dwarka district, DAV School, Amity School, Pushp Vihar and Saket and Sanskriti School of New Delhi district among others.

On May 21, Delhi Police officials had said that the origin of the bomb threat emails received by around 150 schools in Delhi-NCR were traced to Hungary’s capital Budapest.
