HYDERABAD: Secunderabad Cantonment legislator P Shankar Rao and Secunderabad MP M Anjan Kumar Yadav reportedly had a spat during the inaugural of the Musheerabad police station on Friday. The two Congress members were allegedly having differences over the posting of an assistant commissioner of police in the North Zone limits.Both of them attended the inaugural of the new police station building on Friday along with director-general of police V Dinesh Reddy.The MP and the MLA did not make eye contact during the function and did not meet each other. Senior police officials along with invitees reportedly cast furtive glances when the MP and MLA had an argument near the barracks of the premises.Police officials were initially shocked but they later took them away from the media glare. Dinesh Reddy pacified the duo, after which Shankar Rao left the place in a hurry.He did not even go to the dais when he was called by police officials.Yadav, however, told reporters later they did not have an altercation. “He was having an appointment with the governor and so left the place,’’ Anjan Kumar Yadav said adding, “You all know about him.’’ The duo were allegedly having differences over the recent appointment of the Gopalpuram ACP, sources said.Later, a couple of local corporators reportedly expressed anguish over not following protocol in writing names on inaugural plague.
