Family members of Prof Loganathan are preparing to leave for Virginia and authorities say they are providing all help.

New Delhi: The Regional Passport office in Chennai on Monday issued passports to the kin of the slain Professor V Loganathan, who was killed in the Virginia Tech shooting on Monday.

Family members of Prof Loganathan are preparing to leave for Virginia and authorities say they are providing all help possible to the family regarding the Visa.

“Passports have been issued to Prof Loganathan’s parents G K Vasudevan and V Kannammal, his brother Senguttuvelan and his wife Senthamizhselvi, following instructions from the External Affairs Ministry,” Regional Passport Officer, Sumathi Ravichandran, adding, “We've provided all help from my office.”

Ravichandran also said Palanivelu was on Tuesday night asked to bring the four to the passport office and the US Consulate is expected to issue necessary visas to them on Wednesday itself.

The Tamil Nadu Government would take care of all expenses, including air-tickets, for nine of Loganathan's relatives, who were scheduled to leave for US in the early hours of Thursday, she said.
