New Delhi: The national capital is reeling under a cover of smog and the air quality index for Delhi has been measured as very poor for Monday.

Particulate, matter which is an air pollutant that most commonly affects people's health is three times the normal levels. Scientists predict that at least for the next two days the level of particulate matter will remain the same.

There has been a rise in pollution levels over the past couple of days and scientists attribute that to weather conditions like fall in temperature and wind conditions remaining more or less calm ensuring pollution levels remain close to the surface.
