I had my reservations over Paheli being the Indian film to be sent for the oscars, when we say Indian why is it always a Hindi film that makes it to the oscars. Why cant a malayalam, kannada, bengali or even a tamil film make it as India's official entry to the oscars? I'm not being parochial, merely questioning things that are so apparent, it makes me quite speechless that no one does anything about it.first published:January 03, 2006, 23:21 ISTlast updated:January 03, 2006, 23:21 IST

When I see actors and actresses dancing and prancing around at an awards function very often it seems like a trade off between the awards organisers and the actors...u dance for me you get the award. Its quite pathetic actually. Very often entertainment awards are so visibly biased that it makes you wonder if there are any genuine awards left in the entertainment industry be it films or television! Possibly not.Because its mostly the availablity of stars for these awards that will make it saleable for it to be telecasted live on a TV channel and most often that is the thought that drives most award organisers..marketing the awards! After all its all about the money, honey!!
