SSC toppers in State receive APNA scholarship

HYDERABAD: It was a special Sunday for the SSC toppers gathered at Potti Sriramulu Telugu University near Public Gardens. Around 121 students from all 23 districts of the state received citation and scholarship of Rs 10,000 each by the Andhra Pradesh Physicians and Professionals of North America (APNA) Foundation, USA for their academic excellence.“I scored cent percent marks in Mathematics, 99 in Science and a total of 582 marks,” said a beaming Ramesh Sagar of AP Residential High School, Borabanda.His father, C Balaswamy, is a farmer in Mahbubnagar and mother Laxmi is a homemaker. On being asked how he plans to use the prize-money, the IITaspirant is quick to reply that it will be used to fund his education.The efforts of APNA Foundation to reach out to meritorious students from government schools was lauded.The top five students of SSC from government schools of all districts were awarded the scholarships.
