Over ten lakh devotees thronged to witness the festival and in the melee that followed, one person was killed.
The injured are recovering in a hospital. Clearly not the first of its kind, the stampede on Sunday and on July 4 were grim reminders of another that claimed four and injured 19 in November 2006.
