BHUBANESWAR: Allahabad is the place where most Hindus seek to perform the last rites of their departed ones as the confluence of the Ganga, the Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati rivers is considered sacred by the Hindus. But not everyone is capable of affording the trip to perform the last rites there. The Shree Jagannath Mahaprabhu Yatri Niwas Sewa Sansthan (SJMYNSS) at Allahabad has the solution for those who might not be able to go to Allahabad to perform the rites. SJMYNSS offers a service by which one can send the ‘asthi’ through post, parcel or speed post. They also need to mention the name and ‘gotra’ of the deceased. The ‘pooja’ will be performed by the organisation and after the completion of the rituals, the family members of the deceased will be informed accordingly. The organisation has been serving the poor people of the State for the past few years and is located at 38, Kydganj, Chaukhandi, Allahabad, said Dwarka Nath Mishra, organisation’s secretary.
