BANGALORE: The High Court on Tuesday extended the stay on the reinvestigation against realtor and film producer Goverdhan Murthy till January 30, who is facing charges of killing his friend and actor Vinod Kumar.When Shankar M Bidari was the CID DGP, had ordered a reinvestigation of Vinod Kumar murder case. Kiran Kumar, brother of the victim, had filed a petition in the High Court questioning this move. He had contended that there was no need of reinvestigation as the case was already being investigated and witnesses had been examined. He had further prayed in the interim application to extend the stay on reinvestigate the case.Hearing the petition, Justice Subhash B Adi extended the stay on reinvestigation till January 30 and adjourned the further hearing of the case.It can be recalled that Goverdhan Murthy was booked for allegedly murdering his friend and actor Vinod Kumar in an inebriated condition. Murthy, a producer of two films, had invited Vinod Kumar for a party at his farm house on October 7, 2008 and had shot him following a heated argument. Before his death, Vinod Kumar had stated that Murthy had shot him.
