PARIYARAM(KANNUR): The students strike in the Pariyaram Medical College (PMC) was withdrawn on Friday evening after a meeting between the student leaders and the hospital authorities. The college will reopen on Monday.Earlier, the normal functioning of the hospital was affected as the students of the medical college continued their stir even after a discussion held between them and the management. The students, who led the protest they had launched against the attack on the inmates of the college hostel, allegedly by a group of hospital employees and others, were earlier suspended. The medical college authorities decided to place under suspension two of the leaders of the stir accusing them of involvement in the ragging incident that had taken place in the college hostel. The students had argued that no ragging had taken place as alleged by a section of the employees. The management had decided to close the college following the violent incidents on the campus. House surgeons and PG students too joined the stir on Friday before reaching the consensus.
