Student, mother rescued

A constable aspirant and his mother were locked up in his college when he went to collect his certificates, leading to tension here on Tuesday evening.

 Student organisations rushed to the college, broke open the doors and ransacked furniture before rescuing the two.

 According to police, Chandru Naik of Shapur hamlet in Chinna Ghanapuram mandal is pursuing his final year degree at P Hanumantha Reddy Memorial Degree College here.

 Recently, he got selected for civil constable’s post and was asked to submit his certificates for verification this week.

 Naik, along with his mother, went to the college on Tuesday, but college attender Pandu asked them to come the next day.
