Repealing Article 370 would require a two-third majority in Parliament as the Constitution would have to be amended.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court will on Monday hear a petition against Article 370, which grants a special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Both Centre and the state government will present their responses regarding the PIL that challenges article 35A of the Constitution.
The Bharatiya Janata Party and Peoples Democratic Party- which are ruling partners in Jammu and Kashmir have opposing views on the issue. While the former wants do away with it, the latter is keen on continuing with it.

Earlier when the petition was filed, the BJP, then in the opposition, had promised to annul this legal provision.
