Survey of mines continues

CHITRADURGA: BBH mines, SESA Goa (A Narrain mines), John mines and Narahari mines were being surveyed in the district for the third successive day on Friday.Officials designated by CEC measured the mining spots and painted the stone poles with various coloures .They also planted flags on the places measured till now.The National Institute of Technology Surathkal led by Akshay and another team comprising officials from department of mines and geology, revenue and forests have been divided into four batches for the survey.The Supreme Court appointed the Central Empowered Committee to enquire on the impact of mining on environment in the districts of Bellary, Chitradurga and Tumkur.The team is busy fixing the boundaries, after which an in-depth survey will be conducted and a report will be prepared that will be submitted to the CEC team on its arrival to the district next week.With the ban imposed on mining activities, district administration has taken strict measures to prevent any illegal movement of mines by setting up check posts at various places in the district
