Tirupur: One more person was arrested on Wednesday in connection with publication of a photo showing youth in Ramanathapuram district wearing T shirts praising ISIS, an Iraq based extremist outfit.
Faizul Rahman, a resident of Tirupur, was picked up on Wednesday, based on the interrogation of two persons arrested earlier, Superintendent of Police P Mayilvahanan said.
He allegedly procured the T shirts with the ISIS emblem. On August 3, 22-year-old Abdul Rahman was taken into custody for questioning after a group photo of some youths in front of a mosque wearing T shirts with ISIS emblem appeared on a social networking site.
Rahman had told police they did it to thank ISIS for releasing Indian nurses from their captivity in strife-torn Iraq without harming them and they had only shared their gratefulness over the release of the nurses as ISIS was not a banned outfit in India.
Police had said the youths, who posed for the photo, did not have any links with any terrorist organisation, "but they are being monitored and have been warned severely". Officials had said the picture had been withdrawn from the social networking site
