Tamil Nadu Police sub-inspector kills a man at police station

Chennai: A sub-inspector has allegedly shot dead a man at a police station in Ramanathapuram district. Enquiries in Ramanathapuram reveal that Syed Mohammed was taken to SP Pattinam police station on a complaint by a local shop owner about a minor scuffle.

At the police station Syed Mohammed was severely beaten up by SI Kalidoss who threatened him with his service pistol. When Syed Mohammed caught the shirt of SI in anger, SI Kalidoss fired two rounds which killed Syed on the spot.

Kalidoss has been placed under suspension by SP Mayilvahanan. A report on the incident will be sent to the judicial magistrate.
