Teacher held for obscenity

NAGERCOIL: A school teacher from a private aided school at Aarukani in the district has been arrested for misbehaving with a Class VIII girl on Wednesday.According to police, Rommy (40) of Aarukani, a Malayalam teacher in a private aided school, had shown some obscene movie clippings to a Class VIII student of the school and misbehaved with her some days ago. The girl informed her mother and the latter warned the teacher not to resort to such acts. Meanwhile,  the teacher and some staff from the said school went to the girl’s house at Aarukani and tried to arrive at a compromise over the issue. As the girl’s mother refused, the staff went to Kottayam, Kerala to talk to her father who works there. On coming to know about the issue, the girl’s father got angry and filed a police complaint. Following this, the girl’s mother also lodged a police complaint. The police arrested Rommy on Wednesday.
