After a punishing tour of Pakistan, India are playing England at home.

The England team is in India after nearly four years and and a lot of water has flown down the Ganges during the intervening period.

Both the teams have many new faces though not for purely cricketing reasons. While England are missing their top batsmen due to injury and personal reasons, India is without its most successful Test skipper Sourav Ganguly.

Inspite of the non inclusion of Ganguly in the Test squad, India looks the better side.

While the Indian team is going into the tour after a resounding victory in the One-Day series against Pakistan, England have won the Ashes back after a long time just a few months back.

After a long time England came to India looking to give the hosts a good fight but the injuries to their skipper Vaughan and few other players along with the return of Marcus Trescothick for some personal reason has put them on the backfoot.

They are now led by one of the best all-rounders in Test cricket, Andrew Flintoff, and he will have to bring all his experience and skills if England has to give India a fight.

England have come to India backing their strenght of fast bowling but their bowlers will soon find that it is going to be hard toil on the placid Indian pitches. There premier spinner Ashley Giles is miising and the others of his ilk are too inexperienced to cause any flutter in the Indian dressing room.

England have also got its first Sikh player, Monty Panesar, in their team and this once again proves that it is India that is driving the gentleman's game.

On the other hand India will be playing on the fimiliar tracks and with the time tested expertise against the spinner the Test series should be a cake walk for Dravid's army.

One can only hope that the ODIs will be little more exciting.
