CHOTTANIKKARA: All the invitees were anxiously waiting for the groom to tie the nuptial knot. That was until one of them from the bride’s side identified the ‘groom’ and pointed out that he had earlier attended his wedding. The invitee then promptly questioned the groom, Sajeev, 40, son of Prabhakaran, Thattan Veedu, Perumbalam. And this made the bride’s side realise the trap laid out by the groom. Sajeev, a medical representative, fell in love with ‘Wednesday’s bride,’ a pharmacist. Her family had arranged everything necessary for the wedding without realising the fact that Sajeev had earlier married two women and is also the father of two children, one of them a Plus-I student. Though Sajeev had earlier informed the bride’s relatives that he would be accompanied by 25 of his relatives, he reached the wedding hall on Wednesday alone in his car. He said that his mother was not well and his uncle and other relatives were against the marriage as it was an inter-caste affair. However when Sajeev got out of the car, one of the bride’s relatives identified him and informed the others of his suspicion.Sensing danger, the ‘groom’ tried to flee the scene in his car. Seeing this, a nearby autorickshaw driver blocked his way. The bride’s party surrounded the car, gave him a ‘warm welcome’ and called the police for help. The police, who reached the spot immediately, were handed over the ‘third-time’ groom in pure white dress, the Puthencruz police said.
