Local18 reports about the Chunchanakatte Falls in Mysuru, Karnataka, a majestic sight to behold by tourists.
The roaring waterfalls are located in the village of Chunchanakatte village, in KR Nagar Taluk. Known as the Chunchanakatte Falls, the area has become a popular tourist spot because of its heavy water flow. The waterfall is a creation of the Cauvery River.
The waterfall is 400 feet wide and comes down from a height of 60 feet, after flowing through humongous rocks. The heavy water flow, thanks to the rain, creates a stunning scene. The wild waters of the region create a kind of fierce, powerful view, a very popular sight among tourists these days.
However, it can be dangerous to visit the place all alone, especially during the season of monsoon. According to reports, the waterfall is located at a distance of 54 kilometres from the city of Mysuru. These waterfalls are considered to be some of the most popular tourist spots in the region of Mysuru.
It is believed that Chunchanakatte is the place where Lord Ram took a stop during his exile and enjoyed the hospitality of a couple named Chuncha and Chunchi. An interesting fact about this place is that the sound of waterfalls can be heard everywhere, except within the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, believed to be hundreds of years old. Visitors will not be able to find any amenities at the place except some bakeries, eateries and hotels located in KR Nagar. However, it is known for its paddy and sugar cultivation.
