KRISHNAGIRI: Within 24 hours of a bomb blast that killed one person in Uthangarai, the police claimed to have cracked the case by arresting three persons and seizing country-made bombs on Wednesday.DSP Abhishek Dixit told Express that the person died in the blast has been identified as Srinivasan (23) of Singarapettai, who was working in the Army. Srinivasan ran away from the Army without informing to his superiors some time ago, he said. The blast occurred on Monday around 7 pm, when Srinivasan and another person visited a tea shop on Uthangarai main road. While Srinivasan sat on the bike, his accomplice entered the shop when the bomb exploded. Srinivasan was killed while tea shop owner Gandhilakshmi(48) sustained injuries.  The person who accompanied Srinivasan fled.  The police cracked the case by tracking the engine and chasis number of the bike, which had a fake registration. The police arrested the associates of the victim — Ramamurthy (18), Viji (22) and Sakthivel (22) on Wednesday. While Viji and Sakthivel are vehicle mechanics, On the day of incident, the group planned to explode a bomb near an ATM when the bank officials came there to load cash. The plan was hatched by Srinivasan along with his associates. The police seized country bombs from his house.
