A three-day film festival will be organised here from Friday celebrating the centenary of Indian cinema. Chief Minister N Rangasamy will inaugurate the festival. Veteran Tamil director Bharathiraja will deliver the keynote address.
Rajeev Kumar Jain, director of directorate of film festivals told reporters here that a cross-section of Indian films would be screened at the Big Cinemas (Rugmini). The festival would begin with the screening of Bharathiraja’s film Vedham Puthithu and would end with K Balachanders Thanneer Thaneer. Bengali, Kannada, Marathi and Hindi films of well-known directors would also be screened.
