KOCHI: With more number of private buses now plying through the Vytilla Mobility Hub, people at the Kaloor bus stand here are facing quite a few problems.Treasa M, who is a frequent traveller from the Kaloor bus stand said,“ We have to wait for a long time to get a bus and this is becoming more difficult.”Most passengers facing this problem are office goers and collegians. “ The journey to and fro has become quite difficult. Sometimes, we are forced to wait for a long time to catch a bus,” a student said. And when they do get a bus, it gets  crowded with hardly any space to breathe. A Cherthala ordinary bus conductor Saju M said, “Sometimes we are forced to leave a few passengers on the stop, because there is no space to accommodate them. It is extremely essential that the authorities think of introducing more buses that will ply through the Kathrikadavu- Kaloor road.” There is another group of people who come and stand for a long time at the stand waiting for a bus, because they are ignorant of the bus-route diversion. Private Bus Owners Association member S Sathyan said, “People still haven’t been properly informed about which buses go through which routes. There should be a system to inform them about the availability of buses.”Presently, only Cherthala, Paravoor, Piravom and Thripunithura ordinary buses are using the Kathrikadavu road. Since all other long distance limited stop buses are now using the Vytilla Mobility Hub as their bay, none of the buses are plying through the Kaloor bus stand. “In the past many buses, which did not have the permit to ply through the stand used to come here. In a way, it has helped prevent other problems, but now passengers are facing other issues,” Saju said.Trying to solve this problem, the Vytilla Hub Authorities and the RTA will convene a meeting on Tuesday. M Beena said, “ We have received quite a lot of complaints too. There are two options with us. We might convert a few limited stop buses to ordinary Buses. Or we might request more KSRTC buses to ply through the Kaloor- Kathrikadavu route.”
