Mercedes team principal Ross Brawn said that the outcome of the Tribunal hearing on Friday has made the German team more stronger.
Mercedes - who came under the scanner after they were involved in a tire test with supplier Pirelli in May, have been banned from a three-day young driver test next month following the outcome of the tribunal.
Brawn, however, remained upbeat about the whole matter and backed up his team. "I think these events are the ones that pull the team together. These are the sort of events as well as racing that consolidate a team" he said in an interview with Sky Sports Television.
"I think the team was very solid in the last few weeks, we had complete support from Stuttgart (Mercedes Headquarters). They understood and it was very important for Mercedes that the facts of this case were understood", he added.
Mercedes broke the rules by involving themselves with Pirelli and thus, came under the firing line by other teams. However, the tribunal declared there were no bad intentions from the team.
On being asked whether the whole incident might have pressurised him to leave his post, Mercedes principal said "An event like this creates a lot of emotions. It would have been very frustrating if the outcome of this hadn't been what it was but it does sometimes strengthen your resolve rather than weaken it.
Brawn also said that after all the tension in the air has been sorted out the team can now look forward to the remaining year as a few big experiments are to be done.
