UP Budget 2018: ‘Shamshaan’ and ‘Kabristan’ in UP Villages get Rs 100 Crore
A provision of Rs 1500 crore has been made for National Rural Drinking Water Programme and Rs 120 crore for State Rural Drinking Water Programme in the year 2018-19.

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government presented its biggest budget till date on Friday. One of the highlights of the budget was the allocation of funds for ‘Shamshaan’ as well as ‘Kabristan’ in villages of Uttar Pradesh under Panchayti Raj. Overall Rs 100 crore have been proposed by the government for the development of cremation grounds and such sites of other faiths, sects and religion in rural areas.

Also, a provision of Rs 5000 crore has been made for Swachha Bharat Mission (Rural) Scheme for the year 2018-19. A provision of Rs 20 crore has been made to encourage the best Village Panchayats under Mukhyamantri Panchayat Protsahan Yojna.

For rural development, the Yogi government has proposed an amount of Rs 11,500 crores for Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna (Rural) in today’s budget. Another Rs 1040 crore have been proposed under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, whereas a provision of Rs 214 crore has been made for Shayama Prasad Urban Mission.

Also, a provision of Rs 1500 crore has been made for National Rural Drinking Water Programme and Rs 120 crore for State Rural Drinking Water Programme in the year 2018-19. A provision of Rs 200 crore has also been made for Mukhyamantri Awas Yojna.

For Village Industries and Khadi, the Yogi Adityanath government has made a provision of Rs 25 crore for the development and continuous self-employment promotion policy and Rs 10 crores has been proposed for the implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhayay Gramodyog Rozagar Yojna. Also, a provision of Rs 20 crores has been made for the implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhayay Khadi Vipdan Sahayata Yojana.

For handloom and textile industry, a provision of Rs 50 crore has been done for Handloom, Powerloom, Silk, Textiles and Garmenting Policy 2017. Provision has been made for Rs 150 crore for providing electricity to powerloom weavers at concessional rates.
