New Delhi: Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal is deeply disturbed by the fact that despite 'Neecha Nagar' being the first Indian film to get the Palme d'Or at the Cannes film festival, it was not mentioned in the 100 years celebrations of Indian cinema presented at the prestigious film fest in French Riviera this year.

"My first Film 'Neecha Nagar' is India's first film to get awarded at Cannes film festival but I really felt bad when Bollywood celebrated its 100 golden years and didn't even mention its name," Kamini said Sunday at an event organised to pay tribute to late singer Manna Dey.

Director Chetan Anand's 'Neecha Nagar' won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1946.

The actress claims that Bollywood seems to have forgotten the veterans and their contribution to cinema.

"If Bollywood has forgotten its base, which contributed in the making of this golden era, it's regretful," the 86-year-old actress said.

With almost 90 films in her filmography, the actress teamed up with top actors like Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar in her heydays and featured in films like 'Shaheed', 'Nadiya Ke Paar', 'Shabnam', 'Arzoo' and 'Biraj Bahu'.

She was last seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express'.
