Welder rapes woman at engineering college, absconding

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a welder at an engineering college in Kukus, 20 kms from Jaipur, police said on Monday.

An FIR was registered on Sunday after the victim filed a complaint, Amber police station SHO Suresh Chand Jangid said.

The victim has alleged that while she was sweeping rooms on the second floor of Shankara Engineering College on August 17,  welder Ramphool Meena (25) raped her, the SHO said.

She alleged that Ramphool threatened her of dire consequences if she told the incidnet to any one, he said.

The woman has been sent for medical examination and the police are looking for Ramphool, who is absconding after he heard about the FIR, he added.

A case under various sections of the IPC has been registered against the accused, the SHO said.
