Wolf That Killed 8 Children in UP's Bharaich Caught by Forest Team in 'Operation Bhediya'
Forest officials said that the captured wolf was part of a pack of four that had been responsible for the deaths of nine people, including eight children.

The Uttar Pradesh forest department successfully captured the fourth man-eating wolf responsible for terrorising the residents of Mahsi area in Bahraich district. This latest capture follows the previous apprehension of three other wolves by the same team. The wolf was trapped in a cage set up in the Sisayya floodplain of Mahsi, providing much-needed relief to local villagers.

Forest officials said that the captured wolf was part of a pack of four that had been responsible for the deaths of nine people, including eight children.

Barabanki DFO Akashdeep Badhawan, leading the ‘Operation Bhediya’ team, noted that this particular wolf was lame and unable to hunt effectively, leading it to target easier prey, such as children. The presence of this impaired wolf had reportedly influenced the other wolves in the pack to engage in cannibalistic behaviour.
