The teaser for the Suriya starrer '24' is out. Everybody has watched it and if you haven’t watched it yet you’re probably on Mars. The Tamil version’s teaser has crossed the two million mark and the Telugu version’s teaser has received 2,65,000 plus hits in a single YouTube channel.
Suriya’s popularity is always on the rise. He’s one of the A-Listers in Tamil cinema. He’s quite popular in Telugu cinema too as his dubbed films enjoy success in the Telugu speaking states.
The 'Surya s/o Krishnan' actor has joined hands with the wizard of Indian cinema, Vikram Kumar, for a science fiction thriller this time.
Vikram made some mediocre films before jumping into the commercial scene with the bilingual 'Yavarum Nalam' (Tamil) and '13B' (Hindi). His passion for cinema was noticed immediately with these films. He came to Telugu cinema with a winner in the year 2012 with the Nithin – Nithya Menen starrer 'Ishq'. It was the first super hit for Nithin in almost a decade. There were a dozen flops before 'Ishq' made him a star again. If that wasn’t enough, Vikram made a film with the Akkineni family and called it 'Manam'. With a perfect screenplay in hand, he managed to get all the stars of the Akkineni family – Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Naga Chaitanya for his film. And, Nagarjuna’s younger son Akhil also played a cameo. 'Manam' is a classic as another film with such a storyline can’t make it to the theatres. Secondly, such fine cast members from one family cannot come together for a film on the level in which 'Manam' has been made.
'24' is an important Indian film because the success of this film will help big stars experiment within the science fiction genre (and other genres). Suriya is playing a triple role in this film that revolves around time travelling.
Singeetam Srinivasa Rao made a film based on the concept of time-travel in the early 90s with Balakrishna and Mohini (Aditya 369). It was a fantastic film narrated in a way that everybody could understand and enjoy. Vikram’s new film’s teaser has numerous scientific formulas popping out of the YouTube screens but we’re sure that the film will have everything to satisfy the intelligence of the movie-goer.
Who’s the hero? Suriya.
Who’s the villain? Suriya.
Wow!
Samantha looks like she’s going to be a part of the good-natured Suriya’s camp. There’s a lot of surprise Vikram is cooking for us. So, let’s wait and see if 'Athreya' can entertain us as well as the villain Chitti from Superstar Rajinikanth’s 'Robo '(Endhiran).
