Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim's Secret Superstar may not have created magic at the Indian box-office, but the film is doing wonders at China's ticket window. According to a leading Chinese online movie ticket seller and fan rating site Maoyan.com, the Advait Chandan-directed tale of a 14-year-old Muslim-Indian girl who aspires to become a singer has topped China’s box office since its local release on January 19, surpassing the collection of Hollywood blockbuster Star Wars: Last Jedi.
Bollywood producer Ronnie Screwala took to Twitter to share the big news and congratulated Aamir on the success of the movie.

Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed that the Secret Superstar is soon going to cross Rs 500 crore mark at the box-office in China.

Zaira, who hails from Kashmir, caught the attention of Bollywood buffs first with Dangal. With Secret Superstar, she upped the ante with her performance as a teenage girl Insiya, who chases her dream of becoming a singing superstar under the confinement of anonymity.
