After Aishwarya, Rajinikanth To Act In Daughter Soundarya's Film? What We Know

Lal Salaam, written and directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth released on the big screens on February 9 and received mixed reviews. Aishwarya’s father and actor Rajinikanth’s character Moideen Bhai, however, drew accolades from the viewers. Now, reportedly, Rajinikanth is all set to play another cameo role in his daughter and director Soundarya Rajnikanth’s film as well.

Reportedly, Soundarya will direct the film starring Raghava Lawrence in the lead. Kalaippuli S Thanu will produce the film via his production house V Creation. Reportedly, Soundarya is in talks with Anirudh Ravichander to compose the music for his film. There are reports that GV Prakash Kumar will also compose music for this untitled film. Details regarding his role have not been revealed in the public domain. Reportedly, Rajinikanth has allotted 10 days for the shoot of his film in the call sheet.

Soundarya has yet to issue an official confirmation regarding this film.

Soundarya has directed the films Kochadaiiyaan and Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 in the past. Both films received mixed reviews. She has also been associated as a graphic designer for some films and turned producer with the 2010 release Goa. As of now, she is working as the showrunner in the web series Ponniyin Selvan.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will next act in the film Vettaiyan, written and directed by TJ Gnanavel. Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and others will act in this film. Lyca Productions has produced Vettaiyan. Some pictures from the shoot, showing Faasil and Rajinikanth were leaked online.

Rajinikanth was previously spotted shooting for Vettaiyan in Trivandrum, Tirunelveli, and Tuticorin. Post Tuticorin, the makers moved the shoot to Nagercoil. Expectations are high on Vettaiyan because Gnanavel’s last film Jai Bhim with Suriya was a massive hit. Besides Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth will also act in the film Thalaivar 171. Lokesh Kanagaraj has written and directed this film starring Ranveer Singh, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and others. Sun Pictures has produced this film. In an interview with a portal, Kanagaraj said that this film will not be a part of his franchise Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
