June 16 marked Father’s Day and several actors expressed their heartfelt wishes for their dads on this occasion. It included the director and actor Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The 3 director posted photos with Rajinikanth on Instagram. In one of the pictures, she is lovingly holding his arm, while they pose against their car. Aishwarya wore an all-red dress with shades as accessories while the Lal Salaam actor wore a white warmer and a blue cap. In the other picture, she looks gorgeous in a golden saree, while the veteran actor exudes grace in a white ensemble. “My heartbeat ❤️ my all …love you appa ❤️”, the 42-year-old director wrote in the caption.
Aishwarya’s fans and colleagues from the film industry showered compliments in the comment section. Tamil actress Sriya Reddy commented,” @aishwaryarajini my favourite humans”. One of the fans wrote,” Of course, u have the best dad in the world.” Others also appreciated the director-actor duo.
Aishwarya directed her father and actor Rajinikanth in the film Lal Salaam which released on the silver screens on February 9, 2024. Starring an ensemble star cast of actors Vishnu Vishal, KS Ravikumar, Dhanya Balakrishna and others, this film received mixed reviews from the audience. While many pointed out the poor writing skills in the film, others lauded how Aishwarya handled the narrative. Rajinikanth played an extended cameo character named Moideen Bhai Lal Salaam produced by Lyca Productions.
One of the events associated with this film that particularly made headlines was its audio launch which happened on January 26, Chennai. On this occasion, Aishwarya had lashed out at the people calling her father a “Sanghi”. “In recent times, many people have called my father a Sanghi. I’d like to make it clear here: Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi. If he was, he wouldn’t have done a film like ‘Lal Salaam’.” Aishwarya’s revelation moved the 73-year-old Thalaivar, as Rajinikanth is known to tears. This led his ardent fans to give an emotional reaction.

As of now, Rajinikanth is looking forward to his upcoming film Vettaiyan. Besides being a filmmaker, Aishwarya is also an author and wrote a book titled Standing on an Apple Box: The Story of a Girl Among The Stars.
