Akshay Kumar Visits BSF Camp in J&K, Says Peace is The Only Way to Solve Issues
Akshay has donated Rs 9 Lakhs to the family to martyred BSF jawan who was targeted by Pakistani snipers in Jammu and Kashmir.

Akshay Kumar, who has always supported the defense forces, paid tribute to soldiers who have lost their lives in ceasefire violations and encounter. The actor visited a BSF camp in Jammu and Kashmir and spoke highly about the work being done by the armed forces.

"Fortunate that I got the opportunity to come and meet you. I have always said I’m a reel hero, you are the real hero", Akshay said. The actor's father was in the army and he himself is an ardent lover of military -life and work.

About the tension between the two neighboring countries, India and Pakistan, the actor feels only peace can resolve the issue. "Peace is important as many lives are lost while we are at war. I think peace is the only way out", he said.

Akshay has donated Rs 9 Lakhs to the family to martyred BSF jawan who was targeted by Pakistani snipers in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier the actor has donated Rs 80 Lakhs to the martyred soldiers' families when others in the industry were busy deciding the fate of Pakistani artistes in Bollywood.

About his donations, the actors said, "Soldiers are decorated with lots of medals but I looked at their faces. The respect was required for them but they need money too. You have to be practical. I thought how about giving them money and that is when I decided to give 5 lakhs to each family."

Akshay Kumar has always expressed his desire to work in the armed forces and tries to fulfill it through his roles like that in Rustom. On the work front, the actor is busy shooting for an offbeat love story with newcomer Bhumi Pednekar.
