Ananya Panday Opens up on Being Slim Shamed: I was Called a 'Boy', 'Flat Screen'
Ananya Panday opened up on being body shamed while growing up and how such comments would hurt her and damage the self confidence.

Ananya Panday made her big screen debut with Student of The Year 2 and a couple of films down the line has become one of the actresses whose upcoming films will be eagerly looked forward to. She will feature in Liger next with Vijay Deverakonda. It is her first time working with a South Indian actor and crew.

In a recent interaction, Ananya opened up on being being slim shamed by people around her and how such comments made her feel uncomfortable and hurt her. She said, “People used say I look like a boy, flat screen. At that time it did hurt because those are the years where you are forming your self confidence. You are learning to love yourself and someone else is pulling you down then you really start doubting yourself. Now, I am reaching a point where I am focusing on accepting myself. If that is sorted and that is my foundation then nothing can hurt me since I am at peace with myself and I love myself. I am not saying it has happened. It is an ongoing process but I feel this realisation is more important than what anyone else says.”

On the work front, Ananya is also shooting for Shakun Batra’s untitled next with Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Meanwhile, Liger releases in theatres on September 9. The actress was seen in the recently released film Khaali Peeli opposite Ishaan Khatter. It saw a direct to digital release due to coronavirus restrictions and a shutdown of theaters.
