'At Least Once': Pakistani Star Sarah Khan Hopes To Share Screen With Salman Khan
Despite claiming she never wanted to join the entertainment industry, Sarah Khan said that she has grown up watching Salman Khan and dreams about working with him.

Renowned Pakistani actress Sarah Khan is currently impressing audiences alongside Bilal Abbas Khan and Raza Talish in Zindagi’s 12-episode miniseries, Abdullahpur Ka Devdas. The series explores the timeless theme of love and friendship, along with the lengths one can go to for their happiness. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sarah, who plays the character of Gulbano, spoke about her role, her admiration for Indian cinema and her dream of collaborating with Bollywood icon Salman Khan. Despite claiming she never initially wanted to join the entertainment industry, Sarah claims that she has grown up watching films of the Tiger 3 star, along with Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

The actress said, “I had never thought about it because I didn’t want to act. But one thing I had definitely considered was that when I thought about acting, I also thought that someday I will do a film with Salman Khan at least once.”

Further, talking about what kind of content she likes watching, Sarah Khan mentioned that her busy schedule leaves her with little time to watch content after work. She elaborated that with a young daughter, her evenings are dedicated to family time and she doesn’t have the luxury to watch anything alone. However, she highlighted that her husband, Falak Shabbir, loves watching Indian shows and content on platforms like Netflix, along with their daughter. Sarah acknowledged that like many, even she is a fan of Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan since childhood.

Further talking about her character, Sarah shares, “The first time I went for a meeting with the director, my first question was, ‘Who is Devdas?’ After that, I thought it’s better to create Gulbano, a character who is very strong and powerful. If she loves someone, she is ready to go to any extent for her love. I mean, she has so much strength and power in her that the fear of what our people will think, what my parents will think, what the society and neighbours will think, doesn’t affect her. The voice of women here in Pakistan is suppressed and that fear is always there. What will my father think, what will my mother think, what will the neighbours and society think? Worries about how others will see her, she goes to Abdullahpur in search of love. Gulbano is a very strong woman and I really like her.”

Directed by Anjum Shahzad, Abdullahpur Ka Devdas debuted on February 26 and has been getting positive responses from viewers, especially for the lead stars, Sarah Khan and Bilal Abbas Khan’s chemistry.
