South actor Unni Mukundan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film titled Jai Ganesh. Going by the recent reports, the actor has been dealing with controversies, and even sabotage aimed to tarnish his new film. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about the situation and the ensuing controversy as well as the cyber attacks he experienced.

Unni Mukundan, a prominent name in Malayalam cinema, is known for his views on politics and for speaking his opinions unapologetically. The actor was recently embroiled in a controversy, regarding his upcoming release. As per reports, accusations were made against him, in an attempt to stain his reputation. In a recent interview he gave, as part of the film’s promotion, the actor talked about the controversy and the cyber attacks he had to experience.

According to him, the film’s name Jai Ganesh has no connection to the controversies which are being made in its name. He said that people would only realise this after they have watched the film for themselves. Mukundan added, “Everything I do from films like My Meppadiyan and Malikappuram is being made controversial by a group of people in a certain way.” He asked, “Why are you being blamed for a crime you didn’t commit?” saying that this is why he is even reacting to the controversy.

The actor continued, stating that he had no hesitation while pointing out something wrong and that he had a right to defend himself. He added, “If I had to change my personality for a film, it would be the biggest compromise of my life. That is unlikely to happen.”

Jai Ganesh is being directed by Ranjith Sankar and is set to release theatrically on April 11. The cast includes Unni Mukundan, Mahima Nambiar, Ravindra Vijay and Jomol in important roles. It is produced by Ranjith Sankar and Unni Mukundan under the banners of Dreams N Beyond and Unni Mukundan Films. The music in the film is composed by Sankar Sharma, while Chandru Selvaraj is the cinematographer and the editing is done by Sangeeth Prathap.
