The teaser of the final season of Game of Thrones has just dropped and it promises more than what you expected.

The 54-second-long teaser is all about the mayhem that’s going to consume everything in the final season. It begins on a dark note and keeps on getting darker till you see the dragon and direwolf. It’s indeed the song of fire and ice as it threatens to finish off everything you have been watching and savouring since episode 1 seven seasons back.

The ice makes its way engulfing the Targaryen Dragon and Stark Direwolf. But fighting the forbidding ice is the mighty fire that catches rage when it comes across the Golden Lion of the Lannister.

The teaser is titled Dragonstone. For the unversed, Dragonstone is a volcanic island in the Narrow Sea. It guards the entrance to Blackwater Bay, the sea that approaches the King's Landing off the east coast of Westeros. It is also the ancestral seat of House Targaryen. Stannis Baratheon occupied it in his quest of the Iron Throne. Later, Daenerys Targaryen took over the seat of power.

Earlier, HBO shared a teaser video on its various social media platforms to make the announcement. Though the clip is a compilation of some of the important events from the story so far and there is no new addition from season 8, the makers reveal the premiere month in the end.

The actors shot extensively for 10 months to create the six episodes of the final season, reported EW. On why it has been taking so long, Harington said, “It’s relentless; scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot. They want to get it right. They want to shoot everything every single way so they have options.”

“[Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it.’ Everything feels more intense,” Clarke added.

The show is known for killing major characters and thus the last season might be doing the same in its complete glory.

Elaborating on the grand climax, on multiple occasions, the cast claimed that not everybody is going to be happy about it, making fans even more anxious about the final season premiering in April 2018.
