If you are game for a nice romantic drama that strikes the chord of your heart, we recommend Ved, a Marathi language film directed by Riteish Deshmukh who also stars in it, opposite his real life wife Genelia Deshmukh. The movie hit the theatres in December 2022 and has received critical acclaim. This movie collected big time at the box office. Made on a budget of Rs 15 crore, this film has done a business of Rs 75 crore worldwide. It became the highest grossing Marathi film of 2022. Ved is a remake of the 2019 Telugu film Majili. Riteish Deshmukh plays a former cricketer and the story revolves around a married couple. Genelia Deshmukh and Jiya Shankar also play leads in the film. The chemistry between all the lead actors was well appreciated by the audience and critics alike.
In an earlier interview, Riteish Deskhmukh has said he always wanted to make a transition into direction, but was not confident enough because he was actively acting. He shared, “This (direction) is something I was attracted to for many years but didn’t have the courage to do it because I was acting. In the last three-four years, I was trying to figure it out. Even the film that I have directed, Ved, is something that worked out for me.”
