Influencer Calls Out Taapsee Pannu For Denying Selfie, Netizens Defend Actress: 'She Has No Obligation'
Netizens defended Taapsee Pannu and said that just because she's a public figure doesn't mean she has to take selfies with everyone.

Taapsee Pannu is currently in the spotlight after an influencer called her out for not taking a selfie with her even though she was at an event to promote the actress’ film. Taapsee Pannu is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein, and her recent interaction with influencer Ananya Dwivedi has caught everyone’s attention.

A video had gone viral featuring Taapsee and Ananya on stage during the film’s promotion. They shook hands to greet each other and then Ananya requested the actress for a selfie. Although Taapsee initially started posing for a picture, she politely declined the request for a selfie. This interaction has now gone viral.

Ananya then took to the comments section of the viral video and wrote, “That’s me. And I don’t understand why would someone deny a selfie when you’re already surrounded by cameras and the only reason influencers like me were called is to promote HER song! She really needs a better PR training.”

The video has also surfaced on Reddit and netizens have flocked to the comments section to express their hot takes. One person wrote, “Yeah but it also looked like she barely said a few words and pulled out her camera. Taapsee probably just was pointing to proper photos.” Another added, “She didn’t do anything wrong, she has no obligation to give a selfie, plus there’s cameras right there for them to take a proper picture.”

One person wrote, “Please stop dehumanising celebrities like this. She can deny a selfie if she wants too.” Another added, “Not a fan or even follower of Bollywood but i try see things from both perspectives. Perhaps she felt her makeup or hair needed a touchup for a closeup, hence she seems to signal that could take the pic later.” Another added, “Just because she is an actress that doesn’t mean she has to say yes fir every selfie every photo. Probably she doesn’t like herself in selfies, maybe she thought professional cameras are present so they’ll obviously click photos. She doesn’t owe anyone a picture just because she is a public figure.”

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, and Fardeen Khan starrer Khel Khel Mein’s new motion posters have been released. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. The film will be released in cinemas on August 15 this year.
