After his angry rant on twitter on 'forced religiousness', and the backlash he received for targeting just one religion, Sonu Nigam has clarified his stance. The singer has justified his statement saying that those tweets were not against any religion but usage of loudspeakers.
Standing by his statement, Sonu wrote, "Your stand exposes your own IQ. I stand by my statement that loudspeakers should not be allowed in Mosques & Temples. Period This is how Sensible people Interpret an issue. Respects Mr Ahmed Patel. It is not about Azaan or Aarti. It's about Loudspeaker"
Dear everyone. Your stand exposes your own IQ. I stand by my statement that loudspeakers should not be allowed in Mosques & Temples. Period— Sonu Nigam (@sonunigam) April 18, 2017

Earlier, Sonu has written that he doesn't think any temple or gurudwara use loudspeaker to "wake up people who don't follow the religion." The statement put him in a backfoot despite starting a logical debate on the use of loudspeakers in praying places. While people agreed with Sonu's thought about the usage of speakers, many criticised him for just targeting a single religion- Islam.
