Jagjit Singh Tribute Million Race Held at Mahalaxmi Race Course
RWITC celebrates the late Ghazal Maestro Jagjit Singh at the Derby Weekend.

Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh was a legendary singer, composer and musician. People close to him knew that he was a racing enthusiast and celebrated horse-owner. He was a long-time patron of the Royal Western India Turf Club.

After his demise, the RWITC decided to keep his love for horses and racing alive and that's how the Jagjit Singh Tribute Million Horse race came to be.

This year the race witnessed 14 participants. The horse King Khalil with rider Yash Nareddu won the race in a nail-biting finish. Blanche Saldhana and Vivek Jain are the owners of the winning stallion.

The winners were felicitated by Amruta Fadnavis, patron of the arts and wife of Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharasthra and Armaan Chowdhury, the chairman of Jagjit Singh Foundation.

The event has been a long-standing fixture in the horse racing world.
