Ever since Farah Khan expressed disappointment about the rising entourage cost in Bollywood, it has grabbed everyone’s attention and started a conversation on the issue. Recently, Janhvi Kapoor also shared her thoughts on the actor’s high entourage cost. The actress is producer Boney Kapoor’s daughter.
Janhvi was speaking to Indian Express recently when she mentioned that she does not think about costs and added, “But I’m of the belief that everyone on a film set is an artiste. I know I’m very protective of my team and I’d like to protect their rights. Being a producer’s daughter, however, I also know the kind of burden and pressure all these monetary things can put on a producer. It’s important to have an open dialogue with your makers.”
Janhvi further argued that everyone who is a part of an actor’s crew does not work for money. “That if this is not the film where you can have all of this then you can make that adjustment and if this is the film where your team can get what you want then you give them that. I’m sure if you are working with people who care about the craft as much as you do… Sab log yaha sirf paiso ke liye kaam nahi kar rahe, kaam ke liye bhi kaam kar rahe hai. So I think it is easy to come to an understanding about these things,” she added.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Janhvi Kapoor is all set for the release of Mr and Mrs Mahi. Directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, Mr and Mrs Mahi will see Janhvi as a budding cricketer. The film also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead.
Recently, a special premiere of the film was held in Mumbai which was attended by several celebrities including Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia. Following the premiere, Soha reviewed the film and wrote, “What a lovely feel good film that reminds you that what is really important in life is happiness.” Kunal Kemmu also added, “Khushi dil mae hoti hai, wo bahar nahi milti. Simple, sweet and effective… all the best to the entire team for time one.”
Angad also wrote, “Saw this wonderful film… A story with a big heart. Asli hero toh peeche khade hoke bhi ban sakte ho!!! Well done sharry you are my 2-in-1.” He further praised director Sharan Sharma and added, “Honesty and vulnerability and insecurities. Makes him such a fine Mr Mahi. Janhvi aces Mrs Mahi as well as the cricket. She owns it in every frame.”
Mr And Mrs Mahi is all set to hit theatres on May 31, 2024.
