Learnt Everything In Life From My Father: Riteish Deshmukh On Family Values
In a recent interview with a YouTube channel, actor Riteish Deshmukh opened up about his strong ties to his cultural heritage and family values.

Riteish Deshmukh is a Maratha name who is renowned for his contributions to both Bollywood and Marathi cinema. Though born into a political family, Riteish chose a different path and entered the entertainment industry. He is the son of the late former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh. Although he is working as an actor, both his brothers are still active in politics.

Ritesh’s wife, Genelia is also an actress. Despite working in Bollywood, the actor remains deeply connected to his roots, which is evident in his behaviour and speech.

In a recent interview with Devyani Pawar’s YouTube channel, actor Riteish Deshmukh opened up about his strong ties to his cultural heritage and family values. He delved into the influence of his upbringing on his personal and professional life. His children always join hands when they come in front of the camera, the actor shared.

Reflecting on the significance of culture in shaping one’s identity, Deshmukh emphasised the importance of upbringing and highlighted the tradition of visiting Latur during holidays and celebrating festivals with his children as a means of preserving their cultural heritage.

The actor said, “I think our culture makes us. So, it is very important how we are cultured at a certain age. I learned everything in life from my father. Our entire childhood was spent in Babhalgaon, Latur. So even today, during holidays, we take our children to Latur and celebrate festivals together.”

Explaining the term ‘aho’, used to address his mother and brother, Deshmukh revealed that it symbolises the enduring connection to their village. He credited his father for instilling in him the value of respect, stressing that mutual respect within the family is paramount. This respect is reflected in the language used within the household.

He further said that the greatest life lesson is that there is nothing more important than getting respect for yourself. If you want someone to respect you, you should first learn to respect the concerned person, the Ek Villian actor added.

Riteish Deshmukh was last seen in the movie Wade. His upcoming projects include the much-awaited movie Housefull 5 with Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan. Additionally, Ritesh is also currently working on a movie based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
